Kumbaya was born in Nigeria and attended boarding school for six years before attending Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He quickly realized that while he enjoyed the rigors of engineering, he wanted to apply these skills in a different format. Therefore, while still in college, he interned for the Boston Consulting Group and led community consulting projects. After graduation, Kumbaya worked for a hygiene and health safety tech startup, helping identify their ideal customer profiles and developing growth and expansion strategies. At Atento Kumbaya has worked for both the investment and platform teams and enjoys spending time supporting founders in different ways. In his free time, Kumbaya enjoys reading and researching new and exciting topics.
